A Brief Introduction to Lanzhou Vocational Technical College

Lanzhou Vocational Technical College is a comprehensive public college that is authorized by Gansu Provincial Government and the only college directed by Lanzhou Municipal Government. The aim of the college is to train the practical people who are needed in the first line of production, service and management.

The area of the college covers 274 Mu. It has established a Teaching Building of 18,000㎡ which suits the standard of National Examplary Vocational College, a training center of 12,000㎡ and students’ lodging building of 13,000㎡. There is a Academic Hall, a Multifunctional Hall, a gym, classrooms, computer rooms and laboratories in the teaching building.

 The college has made the running principle with the direction of social economic development. Higher vocational education is the main part of the college and vocational technical training and adult higher education are two necessary parts. Automobile engineering and computer science are main majors. The purpose of the college lies in bringing special feature of vocational education into play.  

At present there are 5 departments and 14 majors. There are Computer Science and technology Department, Practical Foreign Languages Department, Economic Management Department, Automobile Engineering and application Department, and Architecture Department. And the college also has National Vocational Technical Appraisal Institute, Vocational Technical Training Centre for Minority, Vocational Technical Training and Employment Direction Centre and Higher Vocational Education Research Institute (It has branches in Beijing and Shanghai). The college has made a good cooperation with many enterprises such as Legend Group, Kongka Group and the 2nd Construction Company of Lanzhou, etc, set up special feature majors and several practical and training Bases .
